Our colleague Pascale Bernheim is on the front page today of Le Parisien for tracking down a violin stolen by

the retreating Germans in 1944 from the National Museum in Warsaw.

The instrument, known as the Lauterbach Stradivarius and dated 1719, was placed for safety in the museum in

1939 by the family of its late owner Henryk Grohman.

Pascale’s organisation Musique et Spoliations aims to restore looted objects to their rightful owners.

The hunt now commences for its rightful owner.
